My Students Assignments
Design & Technology : ARTS-264
In this assignment, I guided my students through the process of creating their own custom avatars using Character Creator, a versatile tool for generating realistic or stylized characters. After designing their avatars, the students moved on to iClone, where they brought their characters to life through animation. Once the animation was complete, the final step involved exporting the avatars for use in Adobe Aero, allowing the students to integrate their creations into augmented reality experiences. This comprehensive workflow not only introduced them to character design and animation but also exposed them to the exciting possibilities of augmented reality, helping them develop a diverse skill set in digital media and 3D production.

Digital Photography II : ARTS-328
In my Photography II class, I introduced students to the art of portrait photography, focusing on the essential techniques needed to capture compelling and expressive images. This portrait assignment encouraged students to explore lighting, composition, and the subtle nuances of capturing a subject’s personality and emotion through the lens. We delved into various approaches, from classical portrait setups to more creative and experimental styles, allowing students to develop their unique vision. The goal of this assignment was to enhance their technical proficiency while also fostering a deeper understanding of the relationship between photographer and subject, ultimately elevating their ability to tell stories through their photographs.

In my Photography I class, I introduced students to the concept of leading lines, an essential compositional technique in photography. For this assignment, students were tasked with using leading lines to guide the viewer’s eye through the image, creating a strong sense of direction and focus. We explored different environments, from urban landscapes to natural settings, encouraging students to identify and utilize lines such as roads, fences, rivers, or architectural elements. This exercise was designed to help them understand how composition can influence the storytelling aspect of their photographs, teaching them to use leading lines effectively to create dynamic and engaging images.

In my photography class, I introduced a lesson on Creative Abstracts with Light, encouraging students to explore unconventional ways of using light as a primary element in their compositions. This assignment focused on pushing the boundaries of traditional photography by using light to create abstract shapes, patterns, and effects. We experimented with techniques such as light painting, long exposures, and various lighting setups to inspire students to think outside the box. The goal was to help them see light not just as a tool for illumination, but as a creative medium in its own right, capable of transforming ordinary scenes into captivating abstract art.

In my photography class, I introduced a lesson on panorama photography, where students learned how to capture wide, sweeping scenes by stitching together multiple images into a single, continuous composition. We explored the technical aspects of creating panoramas, such as maintaining consistent exposure, overlapping shots for seamless transitions, and using tripods for stability. This assignment allowed students to capture expansive landscapes, cityscapes, or even interior spaces in a way that conveys a broader perspective, challenging them to think beyond the confines of a standard frame. The goal was to enhance their ability to compose and visualize larger scenes while mastering the technical skills needed for panoramic photography.
